CAIRO - 6 August 2020: Egypt no longer requires health insurance from Yemenis before traveling to Cairo to facilitate travel for the people who suffer humanitarian crises.

According to a Wednesday statement by Yemen Airways, the quarantine committee at Cairo Aiport decided to admit Yemeni travelers with a proof of health insurance, a requirement that was imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic after the lockdown on airports was lifted. Many Yemenis come to Egypt to seek medical attention, and the health insurance card already cost them a lot of money.

"The management of Yemen Airways expresses its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian government for its continious cooperation with the Yemeni people," the statement said.
