CAIRO - 4 August 2020: A total of 256 cafes, 9 educational centers and 9,912 shops have been shut down due to violations of anti-Covid-19 measures, while 66,836 public transport drivers have been apprehended for failing to wear a mask.


According to a Tuesday statement by the Ministry of Interior about its activities in the past month, cases on tax evasion and squandering of public assets amounted to 4,874 at a worth of more than LE9 billion.

Over LE19 million have been collected in cases of stolen electric current. Tons of drugs were seized along with more than 4,000 defendants. Some 3,654 unlicensed firearms were seized in the possession of 3,101 people.
