CAIRO - 26 July 2020: Egypt’s Dar Al-Iftaa Observatory for Monitoring Radical Ideologies said that the banned terrorist brotherhood is seeking to spread chaos online in Egypt.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Islamic organization said that the terrorist group is inciting riots, falsifying news to mislead the viewers, and broadcasting lies through its media channels abroad to undermine the efforts of the Egyptian state institutions.

The observatory praised the security efforts made by the Ministry of the Interior after security forces arrested a terrorist cell in Alexandria over producing fabricated videos in Egypt, as part of the efforts to reveal hostile plans by terrorist Brotherhood organization ahead of Eid al-Adha celebrations due to start on Friday.

The intelligence department at the National Security Sector found that leaders of the outlawed organization, who are at large outside the country, have assigned a number of Brotherhood members to implement a plan aiming to spread rumors amid preparations for the Senate elections, according to a statement by the Ministry of Interior on Thursday.

The Islamic organization called upon Egyptians to avoid misleading information to preserve the state’s gains from the economic and social development.
