CAIRO - 19 July 2020: Major General Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Morsi was sworn in on Sunday- before President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi- as Minister of Military Production, succeeding late Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Assar who died earlier on July 6, 2020 after suffering from health problems.

 

Engineer Mohamed Ahmed Morsi previously held the positions of general director of the Arab Organization for Industrialization, and assistant to the late Minister of Defense. 

 

He also worked as the director of the Armoured Vehicle Weapon Department in the Armed Forces before he was appointed as the Defense Minister’s aide.

 

Current head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization Mohamed Al-Tarras honored Morsi, saying that the new minister’s appointment will be an added value to the Armed Forces in the upcoming period.

 

At a plenary session held on Sunday, the Egyptian House of Representatives approved a Presidency-drafted cabinet reshuffle to nominate Major General Morsi for the post of Minister of State for Military Production.
