CAIRO – 9 July 2020: "China is considering engaging Egypt in the new COVID-19 vaccine project that Beijing is developing," announced Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Egypt Liao Liqiang on Wednesday.

China has already started vaccinating members of the Chinese Armed Forces with the newly developed vaccine, and the parties agreed to hold a meeting soon to activate cooperation plans in this regard.

During a joint online conference, Liqiang stressed deep relations between China and Egypt, praising Egypt’s role in helping China in its fight against coronavirus, which is appreciated by the Chinese people.

The conference was held on the occasion of the donation made by the Chinese Association for Family Planning to provide medical missions, supplies worth $100,000 to its Egyptian counterpart, and a number of private hospitals to provide protection for the medical staff fighting the epidemic.

The Chinese ambassador further said that the Chinese donation to Egypt comes as Beijing aims to stand in solidarity with the Egyptian people in their fight against COVID-19.
