LE 500,000 seized with passenger at Cairo airport

CAIRO- 26 June 2017: Customs authorities at Cairo International Airport have thwarted an attempt to smuggle gold jewelry worth LE 500,000 into the country.

The jewelry were cancelled in luggage of a passenger coming from the UAE.

Using detection equipment, the objects were found by the authorities, according to sources at the airport.

Legal procedures were taken against the man, who was not identified by the sources.
