Scientific Research min.: Egypt developing 4 COVID-19 vaccines

CAIRO - 2 July 2020: Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced on Thursday that the National Research Centre has registered four new COVID-19 candidate vaccines for preclinical evaluation.

In a press release, the minister added that they come within 132 candidate COVID-19 vaccines that are currently being developed by scientists across the world, according to the World Health Organization.

The minister noted that a research team at the National Research Centre discovered that there are three natural materials that can diminish the virus, adding that the center is currently preparing a file concerning the tests.
