1.6 M Egyptian irregular workers to receive 2nd batch of presidential grant

CAIRO, June 20 (MENA) – Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan said that 1.6 million beneficiaries will start to receive the second batch of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's grant for irregular workers as of Sunday.

The EGP 500 grant will be paid over a course of five days at a total value of more than EGP 800 million.

Saafan said that each beneficiary will receive a text message on his registered mobile phone number 24 hours before the date of disbursement.

In March, the manpower ministry opened the door for irregular workers to register on its website www.manpower.gov.eg. to receive the monthly grant.

The allowance is meant to help irregular workers whose incomes were severed because of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
