CAIRO - 11 June 2020: Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko said strengthening Egyptian- Russian relations tops Russia's achievements in the international arena.

In a statement published Thursday by the Russian embassy on its Facebook page on the occasion marking Russian National Day, the diplomat referred to the great momentum bilateral friendship ties have witnessed in the production and energy domains particularly in the advanced nuclear sector, agriculture and culture.

Borisenko highlighted the importance of utilizing deeply-rooted ties to propel economic growth in the two countries and render the world more peaceful via settling conflicts in the Middle East and North Africa.

"Russia will celebrate the golden jubilee for its National Day, a period that falls as a short term in the epoch of Russia's long history," said the diplomat. He added that in over 1,000 years his country has trodden down a long way of progress, citing a breakthrough at the economic, social and foreign policy levels as well as in entrenching military capabilities.
