Friday prayer to be held at Azhar Mosque, attended by imams only

CAIRO – 4 June 2020: Al-Azhar al-Sharif announced that Friday prayers will be held at Al-Azhar Mosque in the presence of the mosque’s imams and workers only.

The statement ensured that all precautionary measures against coronavirus will be taken.

It further explained that the Friday sermon will be delivered by Ahmed Omar Hesham, a member of the Senior Scholars Authority in Al-Azhar, and will discuss “Islam in the face of calamities and adversities.”

The sermon will be aired live on the Egyptian channels and via the Azhar’s official pages on social media.
