CAIRO – 26 May 2020: Al-Azhar condemned the terrorist bombing that hit Baidoa city, northwest the Somali capital Mogadishu, which left five people killed and others injured.

“Such crimes that target civilians and intimidate people, especially during the celebrations of Eid, indicate that the perpetrators lack mercy and humanity, and they contradict the teachings of all religions,” according to Al-Azhar.

Al-Azhar further called on the international community to mobilize all efforts to eliminate terror gangs, so that “the world can live in peace and security.”

The top prestigious Sunni Muslim institution also offered condolences to Somalia, represented in its leadership, government and people, and to the families of the victims, wishing a speed recovery for all the wounded.
