CAIRO - 8 May 2020: The Cabinet media center has dismissed as baseless and groundless reports that national development projects, including Hayat Karima (decent life) presidential initiative, in Upper Egypt have been suspended as a result of Coronavirus.

In a statement Friday, the center said it contacted the Ministry of Local Development which affirmed the work progress in the projects in Upper Egypt is going as usual.

It said the work in the projects has not been affected by the precautionary measures adopted by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The center appealed to social media users to verify their reports before publishing them and contact the authorities concerned to avoid confusion among citizens.
