Deputy Director of al-Nagila Hospital announces recovery from coronavirus

CAIRO - 7 May 2020: Deputy Director of al-Nagila Hospital in Marsa Matruh governorate, Mohamed Allam, announced his recovery from the coronavirus on Wednesday, days after he was infected with the virus while working.

Allam said on his Facebook account, "The second sample result is negative; tomorrow I will go to Tanta after an absence of 98 days."

"A total of 387 people in Egypt tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), recording the highest daily count in Egypt, and 17 people died of the novel virus," the Health Ministry said on May 6.

"This brings the total number of reported cases and deaths to 7,588 and 469 respectively," the ministry said.

The test results of 2,314 people of the reported cases turned from positive to negative, including 1,815 people who fully recovered.

Also, 85 cases, all Egyptians, left the hospital after they recovered, according to the instructions of the World Health Organization (WHO).
