CAIRO – 23 June 2017: The Cabinet approved initially a bill regarding the installation, use of surveillance cameras and recording devices known as CCTV, which will regulate all aspects related to this matter on Thursday, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

The bill regulates the places available for CCTV installations, as well as the rules, specifications and requirements needed. The bill also prohibits the use of surveillance cameras and recorders or erasing any content from recordings or alter their real content for personal use.

According to the law, the records cannot be copied or transmitted to any person or entity nor broadcast on media or social media without the consent of the concerned minister.
