CAIRO, May 2 (MENA) - Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir on Saturday made an inspection tour of the subway stations under-construction as part of the 4th phase of Cairo Metro Line 3.

During his tour, Wazir followed up the finishing touches in progress before the line comes into operation upon receiving the equipment necessary for its test run to ensure operational safety before officially putting it into service.

The minister began his tour at El Nozha station where he inspected ticket counters, entry and exit gates, fire alarm systems and escalators.

He also followed up the latest progress in establishing Cairo Metro Line 3 workshop built over 65 feddans to be the largest of its kind in the Middle East and Africa.

The workshop will have a massive garage housing 15 double-lanes with a total capacity of 30 trains.

Wazir underscored the importance of adhering to anti-coronavirus precautionary measures, including disinfection operations at work sites and regularly checking workers' temperatures by digital thermometers before and after working hours.
