BENGHAZI, April 27 (MENA) – Libyan National Army Commander Khalifa Haftar announced that the general command of the armed forces accepts a mandate from the Libyan people to govern the country.
He said in a televised address to the nation on Monday that the general command accepts the people's will and mandate, declaring the end of the Skhirat Agreement, which was signed in 2015 under the United Nations mediation and produced the unity government.
The council of the Libyan southwestern city of Al Zintan earlier mandated the Libyan armed forces under Haftar to rule the country and supported the forces' operations against terrorist organizations.
