CAIRO - 15 April 2020: The Youth love Egypt foundation marked on Monday its one-year anniversary of launching the "Clean Shores" campaign.

The activities started by the foundation, including clean-up and awareness campaigns, were to be completed, but given the circumstances of "Covid-19", the foundation suspended all its activities, including the celebration of the one-year anniversary of the launch of 'Clean Shores' initiative, according to a statement by the foundation.

"From dream to top"

Clean Shores is an initiative launched in February 2019 by The Youth love Egypt Foundation, and will be the second phase of the project to reduce the use of plastics, this came in partnership with the media center of the United Nations, as well as the Nile River Protection Authority, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, in addition to the Ministry of Youth And sports, and a protocol was signed with the Qaliubiya governorate, and the campaign activities extend for two years.

Between Local and International..

The campaign aims to raise awareness of plastic damage and limit its use in North Africa, with the participation of institutions and associations from different countries. In Tunisia, we cooperate with two societies through Dr. Najwa Bourai, Morocco in cooperation with 8 institutions and NGOs, led by Professor Mohamed bin Atta, Algeria with 6 institutions and associations led by Professor Saliha, also Nigeria, through a private foundation led by Prince Dan, Ukraine through a private foundation led by Anna, and in Lebanon led by our engineering colleague Marie Therese and her national foundation


365 days of achievements.

In Egypt, about 4000 volunteers applied to fill in the online form to volunteer at the Clean Shores campaign, where they worked on cleaning and raising awareness at 12 governorates.

In Cairo, Giza, and Qalubia, about 11 cleaning campaigns were launched; four cleaning and awareness campaigns were in Kafr El Sheikh Governorate, nine cleanliness campaigns for the Nile River and Botanical Garden in Aswan and Luxor governorates, and in Assiut, two cleaning and awareness campaigns were launched, as well as the number of campaigns in Port Said, Damietta, the Red Sea, and South Sinai, with the participation of about 2,250 volunteers throughout the campaigns.

Minister Dr. Mohamed abdel-aati, minister of irrigation and water resources, minister ashraf sabhi, minister of youth and sports, Dr. Alaa abdulmoneim, governor of Qulubiyah, Dr. Iman Ryan, deputy governor of qulubiyah, professor Ibrahim Shahabi, deputy governor of giza, professor Hind Abdulhaleem, director of Aswan botanic garden, have participated in the campaigns and events of( clean shores) since their inception.

The Foundation emphasizes the prominent role in completing its successes through the Marine Scout, which was a major partner in implementation, through the Marine Scout Club in Giza, led by the leaders Ahmed Zakaria and Ahmed Othman, the Marine Scout in Ismailia led by Mr .Ali Abdel Rahman, and the Scout in Cairo led by Mr. Muhammad Qutb.

And referring to some awareness seminars held by the Foundation to raise awareness against the danger of using plastics, at Cairo University, Al-Azhar, Sadat, and Helwan, and also set up several events for important celebrations, such as the celebration of World Environment Day and World Oceans Day, with the participation of the Director of the United Nations Media Center, the scientific attache to the French embassy to the French Cultural Center, and the scientific attache to the German embassy to the Cairo Climate Talk program in Cairo, in addition to participating in the World Youth Forum.

The important international events..

On behalf of (clean shores) , The Foundation participated in many important international events, such as the attendance of the fourth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly, affiliated with the United Nations Environment Program, in Nairobi, from 4 March to 8 March 2019, and the activities of the Conference of the Continental Governing Council (CGC) of the Alliance Pan-African Climate and Environmental Justice (PACJA), on August 26, 2019, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Then attend the regional consultative meeting of stakeholders, to contribute to the preparation of the ministerial declaration issued by the Conference of the Parties at its 21st session, held in Athens, last October 2019, and between 29 October to 1 November 2019, the Foundation participated in the workshop Global expansion of the Middle East and North Africa, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

From 11 to 15 November 2019, the Foundation participated in the activities of the seventeenth regular session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), held at the Olive Conference Center in Durban, South Africa.

In Greece, the Foundation answered the invitation to attend the regional meeting, which is based on pioneered projects and tools for the assessment of marine waste, from 19 to 20 November 2019, in Athens, and finally to attend the twenty-first meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Barcelona Convention and its Protocols (COP 21), Naples, Italy, in the period From 2 to 5 December 2019, and finally, the founder of "Youth Love Egypt foundation", Mr. Ahmed Fathi, attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Madrid, Spain from 2 to 13 December 2019.

"World Youth Forum" ..

This came through the participation of Ahmed Fathi, founder of "Youth Love Egypt " and coordinator of a clean shores campaign, at the World Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, as a speaker at a session entitled "Climate Change", to complete the Foundation's march in defense of the environment, to present the initiative "Clean Shores, "and reviews the Foundation's ongoing , fruitful activities and activities for environmental conservation.
