CAIRO - 27 March 2020: The Ministry of Health has ordered doubling the quarantine period from 14 to 28 days for all Egyptian returnees from abroad with a view to halting the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ease the detection of new cases.

In its weekly report, the Ministry of Health called for immediate reporting of suspected cases and notifying the Department of Epidemiology and Surveillance.

The ministry, also, urged the hospitals and quarantines across the country to stay on alert.
