CAIRO, March 23 (MENA) - The Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) urged all channels and press institutions to disinfect their premises and allow employees to work on a rotational basis as part of the state's precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement released on Monday, the council also called for eliminating any obstacles facing female employees on that score, especially those with children under 12 years old.

The council released its statement after receiving a number of complaints from some media workers regarding non-compliance with the state's medical and health requirements at their workplace.

SCMR officials will be assigned to carry out field visits to media institutions to ensure their conformity with these requirements, the council said, warning that no violations will be tolerated.
