Long Live Egypt Fund provides 200 respirators to combat Covid-19

CAIRO – 23 March 2020: Spokesperson for Long Live Egypt Fund Mohamed Mokhtar said that the fund has placed 1,000 fluid pumps and 200 respirators at the disposal of the state in its fight against the deadly COVID-19.

The fund has allocated the hotline 15118 to receive donations to help in combating coronavirus.

Mokhtar called on all Egyptians to stand together and unite efforts to fulfill their societal role in fighting the virus, adding that the fund is communicating with civil society organizations in this regard.

The Health Ministry announced Sunday the detection of 33 new coronavirus cases. "All of the new cases are Egyptians, who were in contact with other positive cases," Khaled Megahed, the ministry’s spokesman, stated.

The ministry added that the total number of confirmed cases is 327. "All the positive cases were quarantined at hospitals," he said.

Four more deaths were confirmed, raising the total number to 14.
