CAIRO - 22 March 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi held two meetings on Sunday to ensure the reinforcement of the social safety network amid the protective measures taken against coronavirus.

The president met with Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) TarekAmerto highlighting the necessity to secure financial resources needed to fund the social safety network.

In a meeting with the prime minister, and the ministers of finance and social solidarity, President Sisi instructed supporting all social segments, particularly irregular labor and low-income citizens.

The meeting tackled means to obtain financial resources required by governmental agencies to deal with the coronavirus crisis.

On Saturday, the number of coronavirus cases increased by nine to become 294, while the number of patients who recovered and left the quarantine hospital recorded 41. Two Egyptian patients passed away for the total figure of deaths to be 10. Those are a 68-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man. Both of them are from Giza governorate.
