CAIRO - 17 March 2020: CEO of EgyptAir Roshdy Zakaria indicated Tuesday the measures taken to handle the aviation suspension announced by the Cabinet on March 16 to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

EgyptAir CEO stated that the airline will fly large types of jets on certain flights in order to fulfill the needs of passengers who want to leave or return to Egypt before the aviation suspension that will start on March 19 and end on March 31.

The demand on certain flights will be the determinant of the size of jets operated until Thursday noon.

Zakaria added that passengers who wish to cancel their flights will be reimbursed the full value of tickets without any fines, as for those who would like to postpone or change their flight dates, they should refer to the airline’s branches or their travel agencies.

They can also get back to the website, www.egyptair.com, or call 090070000 and 1717.

Tourist groups that already arrived in Egypt will be allowed to continue their stay until the end.

Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Manar told press that the Egyptian airspace is not closed, and that the suspension does not include domestic flights and air cargo.
EgyptAir is also coordinating with different institutions to ensure the evacuation of Egyptians stuck in foreign countries, and facilitate the return of tourists in Egypt after the conclusion of their trips.
