CAIRO – 6 March 2020: President of al-Wafd Party, Bahaa al-Din Abu Shoka, warned on Friday that circulating or spreading fake information and rumors is punishable with imprisonment for at least three years.

In press remarks, Abu Shoka advised against spreading fake news to avoid intimidating
citizens and leave the opportunity for specialists and officials to provide accurate information to the public.

Abu Shoka further affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is establishing a modern country, and that he has not hesitated about any procedures or holding meetings to confront any possibility of the presence of the coronavirus.

He also called the Quality Committee for Health, which is headed by a large medical staff, to lead a full awareness campaign across the different governorates of Egypt.
