CAIRO -26 February 2020: Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived Wednesday at El-Mosheer Tantawy Mosque to head the funeral prayer of former president Mohamed Hosni Mubarak.

Other Egyptian political figures and members of the government are attending the funeral including current prime minister Mustafa Madbouly.

On Tuesday, Cabinet, Armed forces and presidency issued statements mourning the death of former president Hosni Mubarak who passed away at the age of 91.

"The presidency deeply mourns former president Mohamed Hosni Mubarak for his services to the country as a commander, and one of the heroes of the great October War. Mubarak was commander of the Air Forces during the war that restored dignity and pride to the Arab nation," the presidency said in a statement, as it expressed condolences to his family.

Egypt also declared three days of national mourning starting from Wednesday.
