CAIRO - 9 February 2020: Egypt will host chiefs of staff meeting of the G5 Sahel countries, as well as representatives of the donor states on Feb. 9-11, 2020.

The agenda of the meeting includes cooperation mechanism between the five countries in countering terrorism, exchanging support and experiences in the fields of security and defense, as well as means to help in unleashing development.

For its part, Egypt will propose to train cadres from the G5 Sahel in the area of countering terrorism to enhance their chances in spreading security and development.

G5 Sahel was established in 2014 and is headquartered in Mauritania. It also includes Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali and Niger. It is meant to battle the threat of terrorism in west Africa and open prospects for development.
