CAIRO, Feb 9 (MENA) - Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi participates in the 10th World Urban Forum (WUF 10) to open later Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
Shaarawi's participation comes at an invitation from Executive Director of UN-Habitat Maimunah Sharif and member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Falah Mohammad Al Ahbabi.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry said Shaarawi will review during the forum the local development program of Upper Egypt being implemented in tandem with the World Bank.
The minister will open the Egyptian pavilion due to be held on the fringe of the forum to highlight the most important projects accomplished by the ministry in a number of Egyptian governorates.
Shaarawi is to hold a meeting with a World Bank delegation due to take part in the forum to review the progress realized so far in the local development program in Upper Egypt.
He will also hold a meeting with UN-Habitat Executive Director Sharif on means of promoting bilateral cooperation in the local development score.
