CAIRO - 7 February 2020: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has asserted that the population increase represents the biggest challenge before the state.

During a cabinet meeting to follow up family planning efforts, the prime minister said Egypt's economy is on the mend despite the recession of the world economy, pointing out that controlling overpopulation is an integrated social responsibility.

The meeting was attended by Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed and Minister of Social Solidarity Neven Qabbag.

The prime minister called for intensifying the campaigns of awareness in cooperation with the state agencies to control overpopulation because such an issue is related to the country's national security
