Al-Sisi issues pardon for prisoners on Eid al-Fitr

CAIRO – 19 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has issued presidential pardons for prisoners that have served half of their sentence, according to the official gazette issued on Sunday.

The pardon comes on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of July 23 Revolution.

It is customary for the President of the Republic to issue a pardon to prisoners on social and religious occasions.
