Egypt condemns deadly attack by Houthis in Yemen

CAIRO - 20 January 2020: Egypt condemned on Monday the terror attack that targeted a mosque at a military camp belonging to the Yemeni army in Maareb killing dozens of military men and civilians.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended condolences to the Yemeni people and government as well as the families of the victims wishing the injured speedy recovery. The statement affirmed Egypt’s denouncement of violence, terrorism and extermism asserting solidarity with Yemen.

Ballistic missiles and drone attacks by Iran-backed Houthis occured on Saturday during prayers killing 80 soldiers and injuring 130 others, as announced by UN Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.
