Trade Commissioner added that her country believes in the importance of foreign direct investment to African governments in order to create job opportunities and support infrastructure in the continent, referring to her country's desire to increase the flow of investments from the Kingdom to Africa to support the economic priorities of the countries of the continent.

“Many British officials have made several visits to African countries to discuss investment-related issues,” she noted, adding that the UK is keen to provide support to African countries to achieve development.

The three-day UK-Africa investment summit is currently being held in Britain from Monday till Wednesday. On the sidelines of the summit, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, as well as a number of African leaders, the British government said.

Britain has invited 21 African countries to attend the summit, the British Embassy in Cairo said, adding that Sisi, along with Johnson, will open the summit, as Egypt, the current chair of the African Union, would be a key participant.
