Awqaf Ministry cancels auction for iconic ex-PM Nahas building

CAIRO, Jan 19 (MENA) - The Ministry of Awqaf has stopped an auction to sell a building in Samanoud, once home to former Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa el Nahas (1879-1965) in the northern governorate of Gharbia.

The ministry is weighing the optimum ways to utilize the iconic building, according a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday.

The ministry further asserted keenness on preserving Egypt's ancient and modern symbols, the statement added.
