Arab League foreign ministers hold an emergency meeting on Trump's decision to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, in Cairo, Egypt December 9

CAIRO - 31 December 2019: The Arab League (AL) Council on Tuesday started its emergency meeting at the level of permanent delegates under the chairmanship of Iraq to adopt a unified Arab stance regarding foreign interference in conflict-torn Libya.

Egyptian delegate Alaa Roshdy will represent Egypt during the Arab League meeting, which will discuss the escalating foreign interference in Libya which is threatening regional stability. The meeting is held at the request of Egypt.

MENA learned that the AL general secretariat has prepared a memorandum explaining the recent developments in Libya and the steps that should be taken to handle this situation and preserve the country's sovereignty, resources and territorial integrity.
