CAIRO, Dec 28 (MENA) - The Coptic Orthodox Church dismissed news circulated on social media claiming that the Russian Orthodox Church has severed ties with it.

Relations between the Coptic church and the Russian one are excellent as well as relations between Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, the Coptic church said in a statement issued on Saturday.

The church explained that news circulated in this regard mentioned Eastern Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Pope Theodore II not Pope Towadros II.
