CAIRO - 24 December 2019: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reviewed the Libyan situation in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Seregie Lavarov and German National Security Advisor Yan Haker on Tuesday.

This came within the framework of the continuous consultation on a number of issues of mutual concern and the last developments of the regional issues, especially in light of the signing of the two memoranda of understanding between the Turkish Government and Fayez al-Sarraj.

According to a statement released by spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez, the leaders confirmed the importance of working to avoid aggravating the situation in Libya.


During the phone call, Shoukry stressed that governments should push forward the United Nations efforts to resolve the Libyan crisis and contribute to restoring security and stability in Libya.


The foreign minister discussed with the German official the latest preparations for the Berlin political track on Libya as well as ways to concert international efforts to reach a comprehensive settlement of all aspects of the Libyan crisis.
