CAIRO - 19 December 2019: Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati held talks on Wednesday with Ambassador of Singapore to Egypt Dominic Goh on means to foster mutual cooperation in the field of water resources.

Abdel hailed cooperation between Egypt and Singapore as fruitful.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation in the fields of water desalination, sanitation and and recycling.

Abdel Aati affirmed the necessity of building capabilities and exchanging expertise between the two countries with regard to water resources.

The Egyptian minister highlighted challenges facing Egypt's water sector, topped by the rapid growth of population, the gap between water supply and demand, and ways to overcome them.

He also spoke of the latest developments of Ethiopia's renaissance dam.
