President Sisi meets Japanese experts in Sharm el-Sheikh

CAIRO – 16 December 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with the Japanese experts, who will be supervising Japanese schools in Egypt.

According to a presidential statement, Sisi underscored the importance of the Japanese schools’ project for Egypt, referring to its strategy to enhance the capabilities of the Egyptian citizen. This comes in light of the fact that the Japanese education system focuses on the sound formation of all aspects of the students' characters besides the academic aspects. This aims to better prepare the new generations to face the practical life.




The statement added that the Japanese experts confirmed that they aim to improve the education system in Egypt through the implementation of the Japanese schools' experience, and while focusing on the cultural heritage and ancient history that Egypt enjoys.

They clarified that this is the first time for Japan to send academic experts to a foreign country, which underscores Egypt’s position and uniqueness as well as the country's keenness to develop the education system.

For his part, President Sisi lauded the Japanese experts’ enthusiasm to participate in this national mega-project in light of their expertise in the field of basic education, and hence their ability to positively contribute to establishing the foundation and disseminating the culture of accuracy and dedication to work in the new generations, who are the engine of growth for the country.

The meeting discussed the Japanese experts’ action plan and the proposed timetable to develop and implement a clear plan to establish the Japanese education system in Egypt. This includes training teachers and improving the education curricula in coordination with the Ministry of Education.
