CAIRO - 15 November 2019: Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, and Iraq will hold a tripartite meeting in Amman to discuss ways of the mutual economic cooperation among the three countries, said Jordanian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Thursday.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Jordanian and Iraqi counterparts Ayman Safadi and Mohammed Ali Al-Hakim held a meeting on Thursday in Washington on the sidelines of the meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS. They reviewed ways of activating cooperation within the framework of the trilateral cooperation mechanism.

It was agreed last month that the three foreign ministers will hold a tripartite meeting early November in Amman, in preparation for holding a tripartite summit between President Abdel Fatah El Sisi, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi in Baghdad, said the Jordanian ministry.

On his official Twitter account, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said that the meeting affirmed the three parties agree on continuing their cooperation mechanism. The date of the tripartite meeting on the ministerial level was not announced yet.

In March 2019, the Egyptian Presidential Palace hosted a trilateral summit between the three leaders who reviewed means of enhancing the tripartite cooperation in various fields.
