CAIRO – 14 November 2019: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Thursday met with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Abu Dhabi’s crown prince, at Al-Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, where they held an expanded session of talks that also included delegations from both countries, the Presidency said.

Sisi, who has been in an official two-day visit to the UAE starting Wednesday, has witnessed, along with Mohamed bin Zayed, the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding in the fields of manpower, taxes, and insurances, Egypt’s state news agency MENA cited presidential spokesman Bassam Radi as saying in press remarks.

Also, both sides announced the establishment of a new joint strategic platform, with a value of $20 billion, through the Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company and Egypt’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.

The partnership aims to establish strategic joint ventures, specialized funds or investment instruments, to invest in several sectors, most notably manufacturing, traditional and renewable energy, technology, food and real estate, tourism, healthcare, logistics, financial services, infrastructure and others, Radi said.


Security
Concerning security, Sisi highlighted the importance of Arab cooperation and solidarity in the face of challenges in the Arab region and the attempts of interference on the Arab states’ internal affairs.

Sisi also affirmed Egypt’s rejection of attempts to destabilize or threaten the security of the Gulf states, adding that the security of the Gulf is an integral and indivisible part of the Egyptian security.

For his part, Mohamed bin Zayed affirmed his appreciation for Egypt’s support to the UAE in various issues, including Egyptians’ contribution in many Emirati sectors and their role to achieve development in the Gulf country.

Bilateral ties
The president expressed willingness to foster the bilateral relations with the UAE in various fields.

The meeting discussed ways to enhance the relations between the two brotherly countries at all levels, Radi said, adding that the two leaders reviewed a number of regional and international issues of mutual concern.

They have shared similar visions concerning the necessity to intensify joint counter-terrorism efforts, and the consolidation of efforts of the international community to reach political settlements for the crisis in some of the countries in the region in a way that ensures the unity of their lands and preserves their peoples’ resources.

The crown prince, for his part, also stressed the UAE’s keenness to enhance the bilateral relations with Egypt at all levels, to achieve the common interests between the two countries and their peoples.


Order of Zayed
Mohammed bin Zayed bestowed the "Order of Zayed" on President Sisi, in appreciation of his role in strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.

The order comes in appreciation of the strong historical ties between Egypt and the UAE, spokesman Radi said.

Sisi, for his part, expressed his appreciation for Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the UAE, and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed after he received the high-level Emirati order.


The president’s visit to the UAE comes within the framework of the Egyptian-Emirati special relations, and the two countries' strategic and cooperative relations at all levels, Radi said.

Radi also affirmed the two countries’ keenness to coordinate continuous on ways to face challenges currently witnessed by the region, adding that such challenges highlights the need to the consolidation of efforts to protect the Arab national security.
