CAIRO - 7 November 2019: Egyptian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned in a statement a knife attack in Jordan's Jerash, a city known for its Roman ruins, which injured eight people of different nationalities.

The ministry affirmed Egypt's solidarity with the Jordanian government and people, and its support to all measures preserving the sisterly country's security and stability.

The statement wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Eight people, including tourists, were stabbed on Wednesday in Jordan's Jerash, one of the main tourist attractions in the Middle Eastern country. The tourists included three Mexicans and a Swiss woman.

The security forces arrested the perpetrator, but have not yet officially announced the motive behind the attack.
