CAIRO – 15 June 2017: Reconciliation with Qatar is contingent on Doha’s decision to stop supporting terrorism, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said during iftar with media workers on Wednesday, according to Al-Masry Al-Youm.

“Until this happens, it’s too early to talk about reconciliation,” Shoukry told the reporters, adding that some western countries offered mediation to solve the crisis.

The minister revealed that international community was surprised by The boycott against Qatar, but Arab countries want to reach a definite solution before restoring relations with Doha.

Shoukry said negotiations are underway between Arab states to discuss ways to boost joint Arab security.

Egypt, along with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Libya’s eastern-based government, Jordan and the Maldives severed diplomatic ties with Doha on June 5, over accusations levelled against Qatar of backing terrorist groups.
