CAIRO - 14 June 2017: The Public Prosecution in Aswan decided on Tuesday to hold former parliamentarian, Mohamed el-Omda, in custody for 15 days pending investigations.

Mohamed el-Omda was elected to Parliament for the city of Kom Ombo in Aswan in November 2011.

He was a member of the majority led by the Freedom and Justice Party, the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood’s political wing, until the Parliament was dissolved in January 2012.

On Monday, Omda was arrested from his home in Aswan on charges of inciting protests and violence.
