KABUL, Oct 19 (MENA) - At least 62 people were killed and nearly 60 others wounded in two blasts inside a mosque in Nangarhar province during Friday prayers, spokesman for the Nangarhar governor Attaullah Khogyani confirmed.

According to officials, explosives were placed inside the mosque and detonated when the worshipers were busy in prayer, Tolo News reported.

Many of the wounded are not in a stable condition, Khogyani said.

In a tweet, President Ghani’s spokesman Sediq Sediqqi strongly condemned Friday’s blasts.

The Taliban has denied responsibility for the attack.
