CAIRO – 13 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi met with Volker Kauder, the German parliamentary group leader of the ruling CDU/CSU faction, the presidency’s spokesperson Alaa Youssef said in a Tuesday statement During the meeting, Sisi praised the continuous development in bilateral relations, stressing Egypt's keenness to promote the relations between the two countries and intensify consultation and cooperation on various fields and issues of common concern, according to the statement.

Kauder also praised the relations between Egypt and Germany during the past years. He stressed his country's determination to continue to strengthen these relations, especially in the economic field as well as its efforts in combating terrorism and countering extremism.

According to the statement, Sisi affirmed that Egypt continues to confront terrorism on a military, security, political and intellectual level.

Sisi headed to Germany on Sunday to attend Monday’s G20 summit in Berlin on cooperation between the G20 and African countries. The summit is hosted by Berlin under the title “Investing in a common Future.”
