CAIRO - 26 September 2019: Spokesperson of the Coptic Church Priest Boules Halim affirmed that the church prays for stability to prevail and refutes chaos that harm the individual, the homeland, and the society.

“We now have a strong state that enjoys high status and respect among other states. We have effective institutions and all these are outcomes that we should preserve. That’s the responsibility of each citizen,” Priest Halim told Egypt Today.

“We should work together to achieve more stability, development, and prosperity in all realms, whether legislative, economic, or cultural,” the priest added.

The priest’s statements are comments on calls by Spain-based contractor Mohamed Ali to organize protests against the regime on Friday, September 27. Tens of citizens participated in demonstrations that lasted for very little time on Friday, September 20. Those took place mainly in Cairo’s Tahrir Square and Suez governorate after the final match of the Egyptian Super Cup.

Ali has worked with the Armed Forces Engineering Authority for 16 years before fleeing to Spain due to his indebtedness to banks and suppliers. He started in September a series of videos attacking the regime.
