MOSCOW, Sept 25 (MENA) - The Egyptian Awqaf Ministry and the Central Muslim Spiritual Board of Russia (CMSB Russia) agreed on boosting joint cooperation in the field of training imams and muftis and renewing the religious discourse.

This came at a meeting between chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis Sheikh Ravil Gaynutin and Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, currently visiting Russia to participate in an international conference on Islam, inter-faith and cultures.

During the meeting, Gomaa posted Sheikh Gaynutin on the Egyptian Awqaf Ministry's experiment in training imams and preachers. He also gave him a copy of the translation of the meanings of the Holy Quran in Russian that is published by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

They also discussed a mechanism to benefit from the Awqaf Ministry's experience in the various religious matters.
