BENI SUEIF, Upper Egypt, Sept 24 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said Tuesday that work is underway to implement a number of water treatment projects in some Upper Egyptian cities.

This is done as the government works on desalinating water in coastal cities, the premier said as he visited a treatment plant in the Upper Egyptian city of Beni Sueif.

The project to upgrade the Beni Sueif water treatment plant cost some 97 million pounds, according to Housing Minister Assem el Gazzar.

Implementation of the project started in October 2018 and is now working at full capacity, Gazzar noted.
