CAIRO - 13 Sept 2019: The Qualitative Federation of the Deaf will hold on Sunday the first Arab conference on the deaf and hearing-impaired persons.
The conference is organized in collaboration with the defense and social solidarity ministries.
The five-day conference, to be hosted by Sharm El Sheikh, comes within the framework of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's great attention to people with special needs.
It aims to develop an initial vision to provide decent education for the deaf and hearing-impaired persons, with a view to supporting their independence and integration into society.
The gathering is expected to address some difficulties facing the deaf and hearing-impaired persons in learning languages, especially the Arabic one.
Arab participants are to discuss the possibility for preparing and qualifying teachers of the deaf and their teaching strategies, as well as the role of technology in enhancing education and demonstrating successful models and experiences in teaching those persons.
