CAIRO – 20 August 2019: The Libyan National Army(LNA) waged an airstrike against a jets warehouse that belongs to Turkey in Misrata northwest Libya, said the LNA spokesperson General Ahmed al Mesmari in press statements Monday.

Al Mesmari said that the warehouse that was under the control of armed militias fighting for Tripoli government was underway to be switched into a Turkish air-base. The LNA strike foiled the Turkish plans to build an air-base as an aid for the armed militias.

Turkey seized the civil Airport in Misrata to turn it into an air force base that could be used against the Libyan National Army, however, the Turkish plans were foiled by LNA’s airstrikes, according to al Mesmari.

Al Mesmari added that the strike is a clear message to the Turkish president and his allies in Qatar.
