CAIRO – 16 August 2019: With a photo that appears every two minutes in Times Square, renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass started inviting Americans to come to Egypt and enjoy its unique heritage and culture.

On Tuesday,

launched its new advertising campaign with displaying the brand-new commercial spots on one of the largest digital billboards found in the very heart of New York City.

“Egypt is Safe and we invite Americans to come and visit the most spectacular place on Earth,” Hawas said.

Times Square is one of the best-known locations in New York and the United States, visited by 80 million people during the summer vacation period.

In remarks to American Pulse, Hawas said it is his first time to wear his unique outfit in New York to promote Tourism to Egypt.

Hawass appeared in his trademark jeans, blue shirt and a fedora hat. He has further participated in a spectacular photo session with fans.

The photo of Hawass will remain for 30 days starting last Tuesday.

Since 1998, Hawass has received numerous awards such as the Golden Plate Award from the American Academy of Achievement, membership induction into the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and more.

He has received international recognition including the title “Scholar of the Year” by the Association of Egyptian-American Scholars in 2000, according to his official profile on Facebook.
