CAIRO - 2 August 2019: Pope Tawadros II, the Patriarch of Alexandria, is set to hold a meeting on Friday with board members of the Coptic churches in the Arab Gulf states on the sidelines of the conference of the priests of the Arabian Gulf, hosted by the monastery of Bishop Bishoy in Wadi Natroun over the past three days.

The first day of the conference began with a speech by Pope Tawadros, followed by Bishop Raphael, Archbishop of Central Cairo, and Bishop John Pauli then Paul George, the priest of the Apostle Marks Church in Heliopolis. Tawadros II pointed out during his speech that the priest needs several things such as sincerity, determination and the spirit of a fighter to serve his services to the Christians as a priest on the fullest.

The Coptic Church of Egypt has churches in most of the Gulf Cooperation Council states such as Bahrain, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, while Saudi Arabia has agreed to hold the first Coptic Mass service a few months ago at the house of an Egyptian working in the Kingdom.

The churches of the Arab Gulf States are under the supervision of Bishop Julius, Bishop of Public Services and Ancient Egypt, except for the churches of Kuwait, which are followed by St. Anthony of Jerusalem, Iraq and Kuwait.
